Cookies
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files which are stored on a user’s computer or on a user’s mobile device. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next. The majority of Internet web sites use cookies as a way of improving their visitors’ browsing experience (e.g. to remember the last visit of a user, to store the products in a shopping basket, to show important notices, etc.). To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your device and how to manage and delete them, please visit allaboutcookies.org.
How can I handle cookies?
All recent versions of popular browsers give users a level of control over cookies. Users can set their browsers to accept or reject all, or certain, cookies. Users can also set their browser to prompt them each time a cookie is offered. Different browsers use different methods to block or allow cookies. These options are generally present under the Tools -> Options menu. You can also click on the Help menu of your browser to know more about its functionalities. Along with cookies handling, modern browsers usually allow you to control cookie like files, as the Local Shared Objects, generally enabling the privacy mode.
